John continued to be successful that year in the local AEMC Championship with his MK1 Escort . In 2009 John decided to change to a MK2 Escort for the 3rd attempt on the Roger Albert Clark (RAC) Rally. The next year, 2010 would develop into what started out as being a few odd events into winning the 2 litre Gold Star BTRDA Championship.
